What's NOA1 and NOA2? How long does it take from NOA1 to NOA2?
(Question listed date: Jan 10,2006, updated on Apr 25, 07)
Answer:
NOA1: Notice of action 1 - stand for the first notice after you send your visa application. It is a recipt of your application. Usuall it takes from one week to one month.
NOA2:Notice of action 2 - AKA approval letter. It is the approval in written for your case. You might want to keep that notice for future reference.
The amount of time it takes from your first notice to approval is varied from service center to service center and case to case. VSC is generally faster then CSC. If you have RFE (request for additional evidences), it might delay the process. However, it shouldn't be longer than six month. If you haven't got NOA2 nor RFE from USCIS six months after your NOA1, you should contact USCIS at once.
